Hi everybody, domestics first, Gav who we have so sadly lost, ran the previous WHO welfare fund which after sorting out a lot of issues required topping up.
I have paid out $250 NZ which is £128.61 for Claret50's flowers, which i was going to get back when Gav opened up the fund to donate for future welfare issues.
So this is a new fund I have set up which can be used to pay off my £128 and any future requests. I have sent flower tributes to Australia, NZ and USA and a couple of
UK and believe me it is very well received by families who have lost loved ones. Also it has helped a number of WHOers who needed help. I will be posting details of funds on forum, will also ask if Ted and defjam don't mind me giving them full account details to make sure everything is accounted for and above board. That's it lets go

Donations to the fund can be made here-->:WHO Fundraiser

Flowers sent today
RIP Gavin (Gavros) from all your friends at West Ham online and all
those you helped, you will be sadly missed.

Charley,

I know exactly what you mean about using other peoples money for an event or charity.

Make no bones about it, we trust you and are grateful. The fact that you are concerned and have organised an audit trail is the exact reason you are the best man to take up the mantle.

It means a lot fella.

Thanks.

Just made my donation.

Gavros and I were basically aligned on most things. A sophisticated fella with a love of Europe.

WHO is like a family. You don't really choose them in a way and we can be bitter and cruel to each other. but then like now we pull together. But you have pinch yourselves and remember it's just a football forum.

When it's my time to go hopefully we can have that beer together.

My niece was seeing a lad called Gavin Redknap back.when she was a kid living down south. Not a common name is it? Wonder if it was him.
Still can't believe this, its so.sad.

It's not such a common name, is it? I wouldn't be very surprised if there was a common ancestor not too far back.

Also Mike during Victorian times when registering births a lot of parents couldn't read or write and often the registar would spell it as he thought. In my own family of the 13 children on my fathers side 8 of them were spelt Davies and the remainder Davis

I think there is a distant link; I remember reading somewhere that either a "p" was added to or removed from the original spelling of the name. Sometime in 16th or 17th century, if I recall correctly.
